Andreano, Rosemary K. (nee Kahle) died peacefully at home on July 29, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vincent (Jim) Andreano. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Also surviving are daughter Elise Mundrick and husband Frank; daughter Terri Catini Malloy and husband Jim Malloy; son Jim and wife Kathy; daughter Janice and husband Ron Tolomeo; daughter Lauren; and daughter Rosemarie Erickson and husband Paul. She leaves behind grandchildren Amy Giesler and husband Jon; Sarah Mundrick and husband Jorge Collazos; Michelle Violante and husband Lou; Matt Andreano and wife Tatjana; Joe Andreano; Kevin Andreano and wife Elizabeth; Melanie and Ryan Tolomeo; Chris Erickson and husband Mike Pfeffer; and Steven, Leann and Thomas Erickson. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Carson and Autumn Giesler; and Michael, Nicholas and Gianna Violante. She was predeceased by son Michael in 1974. Born in Kalida, Ohio on October 16, 1922, she was active in her rural community. With her sister Martha she started the 4H Sew and Sew Club which is active to this day. She was educated at Mary Manse College where she was a member of Kappa Gamma Pi Honor Society, and became a teacher upon graduation. During World War II, she met Jim while he was stationed with the Navy in Toledo, and the couple married in 1950. They moved to his hometown of Paterson, and later to Totowa, where they raised their family of seven children. She continued her teaching career at St. Bonaventure's in Paterson, and Anthony Wayne Jr. H.S., where she taught Spanish, Latin, and English. She earned a Master's Degree in education at Montclair State University while teaching full-time and raising her family. After her retirement, she continued to remain active in caring for her grandchildren. Her family and her faith were the most important parts of her life. Inspired by this strong faith, she lived her life always thinking of others. Rosemary was a kind, giving, gracious and loving woman, and was the heart of her family. She was especially known for her Sunday family dinners, her traditional birthday cakes, and the cheerful hello that she gave to her grandchildren. She had a way of making all her grandchildren feel special and loved, and Nana's house was always a favorite destination. She also loved animals, especially her cat, and enjoyed gardening. Rosemary was a devoted parishioner of St. James Church R.C Church, Totowa. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa Rd., Totowa, at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday 4-8 PM at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa.
