Obituary of John C Kedash

Kedash, John C. Sr. 97, of Hamburg, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 25, in Newton NJ, after a short illness. Mr. Kedash is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years Mary, his daughter Maryann of Hamburg, son John Jr. and his wife Joy of Newton, granddaughters Jennifer Eden, Jessica Mintz and her husband, Ben, Jennifer Kedash and grandsons Shawn & Brian Kedash. He is also survived by his sister Emma Butterworth of Holland, Michigan. Mr. Kedash lived in Paterson for most of his life and worked as a Paterson Fireman for 35 years. He was a graduate of William Paterson University. Upon his retirement in 1983, he began a new career in woodworking and furniture repair. In 1994, he settled in Hamburg - Sussex County, NJ. He was devoted to serving his family and spending time with them and was always available for home projects, birthdays, sporting events and just being with his family and grandchildren. He had a tremendous heart and greatly impacted his family members. John was raised during the depression and learned the importance of hard work, integrity and personal discipline. John's joyful spirit will be treasured and missed by all his family and friends. Family and Friends are welcome to gather for visitation on Monday July 27th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Festa Memorial Home on Union Blvd in Totowa, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 28th at 11:00 am at Festa Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
