Obituary of Bruno Mongiardo

Mongiardo, Bruno age 94 of Woodland Park at rest in Wayne on April 20, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Victoria (nee Mongiardo) Mongiardo (2015). Dear father of Hon. Bruno Mongiardo and his wife, Barbara of Wayne and Diane Sanchirico and her husband, Thomas of Little Falls. Caring grandfather of Evan and Rebecca Mongiardo and Elizabeth Sanchirico. Brother of Andrew Mongiardo of Levittown, NY. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Sant' Andrea, Prov. di Catanzzaro, Italy, he came to the U.S.A. in 1934 residing in Brooklyn, NY then West Paterson since 1947. He was a self-employed Barber for Bruno's Barbershop, Little Falls, for thirty-seven years before retiring in 1997. Mr. Mongiardo was a WW II Army Veteran, holding the rank of Sergeant and fought under General Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines and New Guinea. He was also an usher and parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson. He was a member of St. Andrews Social Club, West Paterson and enjoyed playing cards. In addition, he was fond of opera and Italian music. He enjoyed his garden, the jersey shore and time spent with his family. He was a Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Mets fan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
