Obituary of Joseph J. DeMarco

DeMarco, Joseph J., 84, of Totowa, passed away peacefully at home on February 5, 2015. Beloved uncle of Lynn Catanzaro & her husband, Glenn Dispenziere of Scottsdale, AZ and Diane Catanzaro & her husband Christopher D. Jones of Norfolk, VA. Loving brother-in-law of Joseph A. Catanzaro of Boca Raton, FL. Loving grand uncle of Tyler and Julia Dispenziere of Scottsdale, AZ. Joseph was predeceased by his parents Lucy (Garofalo) DeMarco and Joseph DeMarco, and his beloved sister Lucille (DeMarco) Catanzaro. Born in Paterson, he lived in Totowa his entire life. He was a Navigation Equipment Repair Specialist for Kearfott Guidance & Navigation, West Paterson, NJ for many years before retiring in the late 1990s. Mr. DeMarco was a decorated Korean War veteran who was awarded 3 Bronze Service Stars and a United Nations Service Medal. He was inducted in 1951 and served in Korea from 1952-1953 as a Radio Operator in the Signal Corp, attaining the rank of Corporal. He belonged to the VFW Post #10104, Totowa and the American Legion Post #227, Totowa. Mr. DeMarco was a proud veteran, avid fisherman and a New York Giants fan. He enjoyed his tomato garden. He joins his sister, Lucille, in Heaven. May he live in everlasting peace. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday, Feb. 20 from 6-8 PM and Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9-11 AM.
