Obituary of Elizabeth Homsey Karam

Karam, Elizabeth (nee Homsey) age 90 of Paterson at rest in Hackensack on November 22, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Mitchell Karam (1984) and mother of the late Charlene Elizabeth Karam (1960). Loving mother of Janis Karam Gallo and her husband Robert A., Mitchell James Karam, Maria Karam-Stern, Elizabeth Karam-Putt and her husband Bob. Dear sister of Mary Manning, George Homsey and the late Mitchell Homsey. Loving grandmother of Mitchell Thomas Karam, Raymond Joseph Karam, Charlene Karam Putt and Siena Karam Stern. She was born and lived in Paterson most of her life before moving to Verona. Known to all as Betty, she was forever the champion of those she loved as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a Secretary for Sacred Heart School, Clifton and Our Lady of Mercy, Whippany. Prior to that, she was a sole proprietor working as a seamstress making custom drapery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday, starting at 9:00AM for visiting. Funeral mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C Church, Paterson at 11:00 AM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
