Obituary of Alfred G. Tanguay

Tanguay, Alfred G. "Sugar" age 84 of Woodland Park at rest in Pequannock Twsp. on October 11, 2014. Beloved husband of fifty nine years of the former Jennie Patacco of Woodland Park. Loving Father of Renee Pohlman and her husband Todd of Totowa, Nora Davidson of Little Falls, Michelle Vigorita and her husband James of Little Falls and Gerard Tanguay and his wife Carrie of Totowa. Dear Grandfather of Noelle Guido, David Davidson, Danielle Mazzo, Alexis Tanguay and Julia Tanguay. Great Grandfather of Anthony Guido. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Paterson, he lived in Little Falls before moving to West Paterson fifty one years ago. He was an Operating Engineer for the Operating Engineers, Local #825, Newark for over forty years before retiring in 1996. Mr. Tanguay was a Parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson and was an Usher there. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Club, Paterson. He was a Volunteer Firefighter for the West Paterson Fire Dept., Co#2, Woodland Park. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion, Post # 238, Woodland Park. He enjoyed playing cards and Billiards. He was a true family man. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
