Pegel, Marlene (nee Frye) of West Paterson died at home on December 15, 2004. Beloved wife of the late Edward Pegel. Mother of Elizabeth Pegel, Mary Chokran, Anne Cumaoglu, Robert Pegel, Thomas Pegel and the late John E. Pegel and David Pegel. Grandmother of Mariel and Mark Welhorsky, Taylor, Cole, and Gemma Chokran, John and David Cumaoglu, Carlos and Leonardo Lopez, Calvin, Thomas, Gregory, and Alexandrea Pegel, and the late Jack Pegel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard RC Church, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For more information, go to www.festamemorial.com OBITUARY Marlene (nee Frye) Pegel age 73 of West Paterson died Wednesday. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico she was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa and lived in West Paterson the past 50 years. Mrs. Pegel was a Kindergarten School Teacher for the West Paterson School System, West Paterson, New Jersey for 26 years before retiring. After retiring, she was a Music Minister for St. Gerard RC Church, Paterson for 7 years. She was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson NJ and was named their Woman of the Year in 2000. She was named the West Paterson Public Schools Teacher of the Year in 1990. Preceeding her in death was: her husband: Edward Pegel 2 sons: John E. Pegel David Pegel And a grandson: Jack Pegel Survivors include: 3 daughters: Elizabeth Pegel of Wayne, NJ Mary Chokran of Boulder, Co Anne Cumaoglu of Wayne, NJ 2 sons: Robert Pegel of Bloomfield, NJ Thomas Pegel of West Milford, NJ Also survived by 13 grandchildren. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa is in charge of arrangements.
