Obituary of Dorothy M. Tanski

Tanski, Dorothy M. (nee Kruse) of West Paterson at rest in West Paterson on September 25, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Tanski. Mother of Cynthia Saracco and her husband Allan, Alice M. Walz and Keith Tanski. Grandmother of Elizabeth and Brian Saracco and Rachele and Natalie Tanski. Sister of Alice Lasky. Special Aunt of Michele Hartney and several other nieces and nephews. For more information go to www.festamemorial.com OBITUARY Dorothy M. (nee Kruse) Tanski age 84 of West Paterson died Sunday. Born in Garfield, NJ she lived there before moving to West Paterson in 1952. Mrs. Tanski graduated from St. Josephs Hospital School of Nursing in 1942 as a Registered Nurse. In 1965 she graduated from Jersey City State College with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education. She was a Registered Nurse for the West Paterson Board of Education, serving at Charles Olbon and Memorial Schools. She was a United States Navy Nurse during W.W. II at the Naval Academy when President Jimmy Carter was a Midship-man. Mrs. Tanski was a member of the American Legion Womens Post # 333, Hawthorne and currently a member of Post # 238, West Paterson. She was founder and first president of the West Paterson Public Library Board. She was a member of the West Paterson Womens Club. Mrs. Tanski was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and a volunteer with the Senior Citizens at the St. James Academy School, Totowa. Preceeding her in death was her husband: Anthony J. Tanski Survivors include: 2 daughters: Cynthia Saracco of Oakland, NJ Alice M. Walz of Paterson, NJ A son: Keith Tanski of West Paterson, NJ A sister: Alice Lasky of Whiting, NJ Also survived by 4 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a son-in-law.
