Obituary of Robert M. Penotti

Penotti, Robert M. age 82 of Wayne at rest in Paterson on August 11, 2011. Beloved husband of the former Bernadette "Betty" Calabrese of Wayne. Loving father of Frank Penotti of Little Falls, Robert Penotti of NYC, NY, John Penotti and Sheryl of NYC, NY, Mark Penotti of Paterson, David Penotti and Tracy of Los Angeles, CA and Bernadette Penotti and Scott of NYC, NY. Grandfather of Luca Penotti. Dear son of the late Frank and Caroline (nee Girgenti) Penotti. Brother of the late Victor G. Penotti. Born in Paterson, he lived there for most of his life before moving to Wayne fifteen years ago. He was a Teacher and Counselor for the Teaneck Board of Education. Prior to that, he was a Journalist for the Beacon and Herald News. Mr. Penotti was a graduate of Seton Hall University, East Orange and New York University, NY, NY. He was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson. In addition, he served on the Board of Catholic Family and Community Service, was a Lector for Catholic Radio Mass and belonged to the Men of God Prayer Group. He was the Chairman of the Paterson Board of Adjustments and the Paterson Board of Education. He was a member of the North Jersey YM-YWHA, Wayne and an organizer of their Squash, Racquetball and Tennis League for many years. He was on their Physical Education and Squash Committees; he was an avid athlete, competitive in multiple Racquet Sports and Speed skating. He was also a member of the North Jersey Squash Racquets Association. Robert was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For those who wish, donations to St. Jude Media Ministry, P.O.
