Devoted father of Karen, Walter, Jane and her husband Stephen Albrecht, Christine and her husband, Anthony Grilli, and Stephanie and her husband Chris Mc Evoy. Loving grandfather of Abigail, John, Jillian, William, Mary, and Michael. Dear brother of Irene Dittmann, Zosia Hallam and the late Janina Majeran, Thaddeus Zalenski, and Marion Zalenski. He is predeceased by his first wife, Elsie (nee Mangifesta). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Thursday at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James of the Marches RC Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation will be Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. For more information go to www.festamemorial.com OBITUARY Walter E. Zalenski age 76 of Totowa died Sunday. Born in East Vandergrift, Pa he moved to Totowa in 1959. Mr. Zalenski was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, earning a BS in Chemistry. He was a World War II Army veteran. Prior to retirement, Walter enjoyed a long career with the Watson Standard Company of Pittsburgh, Pa retiring 10 years ago as a Sales Representative. A parishioner and Lecturer at St. James of the Marches RC Church, Totowa, he was an active member of St. James of the Marches Knights of Columbus Council #6574 serving as Past Grand Knight and Past District Deputy. He was the past Vice-President of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, New Jersey. Preceeding him in death was: His 1st wife: Elsie (nee Mangifesta) 1 sister: Janina Majeran and 2 brothers: Marion Zalenski and Thaddeus Zalenski Survivors include his wife of 42 years: Annita Zalenski A son: Walter Zalenski 4 daughters: Karen Zalenski Jane and her husband, Stephen Albrecht Christine and her husband, Anthony Grilli Stephanie and her husband, Chris McEvoy 2 sisters: Irene Dittmann Zosia Hallam Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa is in charge of arrangements.
