Matera, Nicholas S. of Totowa at rest in Wayne on September 9, 2005. Devoted husband of Gertrude Trudy (nee Lang) Matera. Father of Richard J. Matera and his wife Georgeanne and Lynn A. Carmody and her husband Dan. Grandfather of Blair and Nicholas Matera. Brother of Peter Guerrieri, Salvatore Guerrieri, Jr., Marie Antoinette Russo, Clare Diorio and the late, Jerry and Dominick Matera and Leonard Guerrieri. Surviving are 14 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Matera age 78 of Totowa died Friday. Born in Garfield, NJ he lived there before moving to Totowa 50 years ago. He was a Machine Operator for Grief Brothers Corp., Teterboro, NJ for 42 years before retiring. Prior to that he worked in construction. Mr. Matera was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa, NJ. Preceeding him in death was 3 brothers: Jerry Matera Dominick Matera Leonard Guerrieri Survivors include his wife: Gertrude (nee Lang) Matera of Totowa A son: Richard J. Matera of Howell Twsp., NJ A daughter: Lynn A. Carmody of Centennial, CO 2 sisters: Marie Antoinette Russo of Clifton, NJ Clare Diorio of Lodi, NJ 2 brothers: Peter Guerrieri of Wayne, NJ Salvatore Guerrieri, Jr. of Garfield, NJ Also survived by 2 grandchildren, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and 14 nieces and nephews.
