Please share a memory of Josephine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Post, Josephine "Jo" (nee Mrugala), died peacefully at the age of 93 in her sleep, with her family present, on the evening of January 28 at Cedar Crest Village. She was pre-deceased by her husband, former Paterson police captain, Edwin Post. She leaves a daughter, Elaine Vinopal and her husband Guy of Wayne, grand-daughters, Amy of Pompton Plains and Jennifer of New York City, a great-granddaughter, Jane of New York City, a sister, Victoria Szott of Clifton and another sister, Catherine McKenzie of Westland, Michigan. She was born and raised in Johnstown, PA, moved to Passaic in her teens, married and raised her family in the Lakeview section of Paterson. When her husband retired from the police force they moved to Totowa and she has lived in Cedar Crest Village for the past six years. While raising her daughter she was active in school activities and Girl Scouts. Jo's wonderful artistic talents were displayed by her lifetime of creating quilts and ceramics. Her many friends and family have these wonderful pieces of art by which to remember. Jo was a kind and generous person who will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, a gift donation to Hospice of NJ or The Myasthenia Gravis foundation would be appreciated. For more information, go to www.festamemorial.com.
