I was there at the visitation this evening. I can't tell you what a wonderful feeling I had, and I'm sure Johnny looking down from heaven had also. What a wonderful tribute, to a great guy, it was plain to see, how very much he is loved.
Memories never die, and Love is Forever. Even little Matthew had a smile on his face, such a beautiful little boy, Johnny would just be so proud and happy he was there.

Johnny was such a generous person, that is how I will remember him. I will miss him as he always made me smile when I would go to his shop for a haircut. He was devoted to his family and always gave of himself. I know he is at peace in heaven. We'll miss you Johnny.

Johnny, Words cannot express what an awesome person you were and will be in Heaven. Heaven is truly blessed to have you as an Angel. Even though we haven't seen each other in 6 years, I will never forget every Saturday that you picked up my grandmother to bring her to the shop to get her hair done (in your red sportscar) Whether it was on Nagle Street or on Union Blvd in Totowa. She passed away April 21, 2009 and even though I could not find you to tell you, I know you are with her now in Heaven. This has been a tough year, loosing my grandmother, and mother less than a year later February 21, 2010. My grandmother Lucy Ferro and mother Marge Volpe are the other angels welcoming you in Heaven. You were one in a million. A blessed angel in Heaven. To all your family, find peace that Johnny is a Angel in Heaven.

John,
I still can't believe the news I heard this week. It still doesn't seem real. I woke up from a nap to a phone call that changed my life. You were a man whom was so good to my family and were such a great friend who will be missed tremendously. You did whatever you could to make me smile and feel so beautiful everyday that i was with you and my mom, and barbara anzaldi. I will never forget all of the laughs, crazy talks, and many tears. You were someone i could tell anything to and knew i would get an honest answer. I never met someone who was so amazing as you and my heart will be broken for along time until god calls on me to see you again. All i can think about is the good times that we had. I was blessed with the best memory of all time. Thank you for walking my mom down the aisle for Danielle's wedding and make all of us look so beautiful on that special day. You did everything in your power to make all of us look absolutely gorgeous. All i have left is the memories and the photos to look back on. Please watch over all of us and continue to love us the way you did everyday. no one will ever replace you or could even come close. You are deeply missed and your memories will last a lifetime in our household. My mom reminises everyday that your gone. She loved you like a brother and will always remember you and your kind words. I love you and will always think about you until it is time we meet again.

John, When I found out you had passed away I was in shock and I think at times I’m still in shock. No matter how many times I look at the obituary I still cannot believe you’re gone. I keep hoping that it is all a really bad dream. John, all I can say is you were a wonderful friend, caring and kind with a heart bigger than anyone I know. You deserved so much more out of life but you always made the best out of whatever situation you faced. I enjoyed our long talks while you did my hair. In the last couple of days I was trying to remember the first time we met. I think it was that time we were helping Mark out cleaning up those new condos in Guttenberg. I’ll never forget when the police arrived and had us lined up in the hallway until Mark could prove that he was hired to clean up the place. You were standing there with your rubber gloves up to your elbows and making jokes. We weren’t laughing then but we sure had a good laugh later on. I’ll cherish that memory as well as the others. You have a very special and permanent place in my heart! Godspeed…and may you always look down upon all your friends and help to keep us safe until God calls us home at which time we’ll meet again! With all my love, Barbara.

My dearest friend John, I can’t believe you’re with god in heaven. You who worried about everyone, God must have needed an angel. I just saw you on July 1st, you did my hair, and make up, for my brother in law’s swearing in as mayor in Clifton again, we were going to out for coffee after you finished working. I was going to pick you up, and take you home again. Oh John-what am I going to do without you? You always made me laugh, even when I was depressed, you will always be in my heart. I loved you just like a brother. We met on Nagel Street. Tracy sent me to you when I worked in Pathmark with her. My heart is broken. Heaven has gained an angel…we have all lost a wonderful friend. You will be missed greatly…I love you with all my heart. Now you are in heaven with all the angels. Love you, Barbara Anzaldi.

Oh Johnny, a little piece of my heart was broken off and sent to heaven with you when God called you home way way too early. You are one of the most special and kindest people I have known. You have been my friend for 35 years and through all that time you were the one I could always count on to be here and be you - the best. Johnny I cannot put into words the sadness I feel, you always made be laugh, smile and feel special. I will miss your hugs for the rest of my life. You not only treated me special, but you treated my whole family as though they were your own. Ever since we all found out that God took you home, you have not for one minute been out of our thoughts. Johnny, I know you are with my mom and I know she loved you too, so on Saturday I hope you and her are in the front row looking down on Gina's wedding, knowing we are looking up to send you kisses, hugs and love that are meant for you. I will miss you so so much, I hope Heaven knows how lucky they are to have you, because they have the best of the best now. My hearts go out to your family and please know you are all in my prayers. Johnny, I lost one of my best friends when God took you home, but my love for you will go on forever.

Johnny was one of the kindest human beings I have ever known. He was a dear friend to our family for many many years, and we were so blessed to have him. Johnny gave me my first hair cut 25 years ago and did my hair for all of my proms. I have so many memories of him from my childhood. He always took the time to make you feel special and good about yourself. He was selfless and went beyond the scope of what it means to be a friend. I'm getting married next Saturday, and there will be an empty seat at my wedding that could never be filled. This is similar to the place in all of the hearts of those who loved Johnny, that can never be filled. Your memories and acts of kindness will fill our hearts forever. I was so blessed to have known him and had him in my life. I am so thankful for the way he always helped my mom to feel special. He was a one of a kind friend. May the God that loves us all, hold you in the palm of His hand. You will be so dearly missed.

My heart is broken.Im numb.I can not believe God called you home so soon and so sudden. I am so sad that I did not even get to say good bye.
I will never forget every time you walked into Apollo with that BIG bright smile. The girls would say "who is that guy" and I would say... "Oh Johnny.. thats my real life teddy bear!" You were! My friend -You always cheered me up and made me feel so loved and special. Danielle and I just spoke about the time you took me to dinner in Little Italy. I had knee surgery earlier that year and you had your cane. We were like two weeble wobbles together!! Good times. Lotts of laughs. THANK YOU for touching my life and my heart. To be honest-I have missed seeing you ever since your salon left my neighborhood and I left my job to be a full time mommy.I so wish you had met my daughter Enza. You would have loved her. What can say? Life is like a flash. This loss is a HUGE eye opener and life lesson on how to not let people you care about slip away.I hope we all learn from this. We are so busy and sometimes get caught up in our routines, losing sight of that VERY important detail. Oh Johnny -Please know that I will never forget you and how you had an ability to make me feel like a million bucks. THANK YOU. You were always selfless and just one hell of a guy. ONE OF A KIND BABY. Everyone who knew you- well we were just so LUCKY. Especially the kids...God you loved your nieces and nephews like they were your own. I know that with out a doubt they now have a very special angel shining down on them from Heaven. I better stop rambling now.You know me.. once I start.. I never shut up. :) I guess thats why we liked one another so much. Two chatter mouths right?
Good bye John.I say that with a very heavy heart. Please look for me when I too am called home. I need that Teddy Bear hug.... and will think about getting it when I need something to make me smile. May God hold you in the palm of his hands.. until we meet again.Rest in Peace and know that you are loved. xo
(To the family- I truly share in your sadness. I will keep you all in my prayers during this unthinkable time. Please Hang in there. I have a lot of faith that God will see you through.

Johnny was the kind of person one never forgets, My fondest memory of him is at Ashley Bardi's Graduation Party, just watching him sit by and care for and just oggle over little Mathew, It's the kind of an expression, from a Man that one could see how much he just loves that little boy.
Rest in Peace Johnny, Love is Forever and Memories Never Die.
