Dominick Riccio, 82 passed away Saturday June26, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Paterson, NJ on July 21, 1927, to Michael and Pasqualina Riccio. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served on the USS John Cross, in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He completed his high school education after his honorable discharge. He married, Antoinette Cantisano, on June 20, 1948. Dominick worked as a color mixer for Allied Textile Company, Paterson, NJ a customer liaison, for Curtiss-Wright Aero, Hackensack, NJ, he owned his own business, Grand Street Confectionery, Paterson, NJ and was a facilities manager for the West Paterson Board of Education, and retired from there after 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion-John Raad Post, a former member of the Totowa Italain American Independent Club, and the Totowa Seniors. He was a former parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and St. Luke R.C. Church, Toms River. He resided most of his life in Totowa, and moved to Toms River in 2001. Dominick was a loving husband, and devoted father and loved his extended family of sisters and brothers-in-law as well as many life long friends. He enjoyed his Poker Club, Atlantic City, family vacations to Point Pleasant and Wildwood, family gatherings and vacations with family and friends to Las Vegas, Mexico, tour of the West and Florida. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Antoinette, daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Michael Castrilli of Florida, son, James Riccio, of Toms River, daughter and son-in-law Diane and Carmen Reale of Toms River, grandchildren, Michael and Maria Castrilli, David Castrilli of Florida and Andrea Reale and Anthony Reale of Toms River, a brother Nicholas Riccio of Garfield, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mary Van Orden. Visiting will be Monday 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River and then on Tuesday 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 7:00PM - 9:00PM at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa on Wednesday June 30, 2010 at 10:00AM. Entombment will follow at the Laurel Grove Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
