John Jude Joseph Pasquariello, 73, died on March 16, 2010. John went to be with his deceased Mother and Father, Mary (nee Scalzitti), and Anthony Pasquariello, after a long suffering battle with Alzheimer's. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen (nee Hunter); son, John Paul Pasquariello, Michigan; daughter, Lisa (Lee) Fender, Sarasota; two grandsons, Scott Anthony Moore, and Kyle Reece Moore; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Marie Pasquariello, Halea Tamarac Owen, Jenna Fender, and many cousins in New Jersey, Florida and California. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, October 28, 1936, John attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and graduated from Central High in Paterson in 1955. John enlisted in the Navy Reserves in 1954, and pursued his Navy career stationed at various naval and air force bases around the country including San Diego, Calif., Hawaii, Bainbridge, Maine, Homestead AFB, Fla. He had the opportunity to visit many European countries, England, France, Italy, Turkey, and in 1988, after more than 34 years in the U.S. Navy, retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He specialized in Naval (Navsecgru) Intelligence (Top Secret Cryptologist), and became Senior Chief in Charge. He also was Chief instructor at Tampa Naval Reserve Center, supervised and instructed at Homestead AFB, Bainbridge, Md., and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Thanks to the 'G.I. Bill', John attended Rutgers University, Newark, N.J. campus, at night for over 7 years and earned his Bachelors Degree in Science and Business Management in 1973. He completed his MBA Degree in Management through Nova University, Florida. John worked in Purchasing in New Jersey as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, and received his Certification as Purchasing manager, (CPA) while still in the Navy. In 1977, John and his family came to Florida and settled in Bradenton. He became a Senior Buyer in Contract Negotiations and Capital Equipment with Tropicana, recipient of many 'Spotlight Awards,' and after 25 years, retired in 2002. John held certifications and licenses in Travel Agency, Realtor Salesman, Life Insurance Salesman, and had been a Lifetime Member of the Florida Sun Coast Chapter of the National Association of Purchasing Management. He served as the President, Director at Large, and was re-elected to a second term as President. John also served under Sheriff, Charlie Wells, as Corporal of the Sheriff's Auxiliary Posse for 5 years, ushered at Van Wezel, Green Jacket Ambassador SRQ Airport for over 7 years, and a member of the local chapter of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. John was always known to be an intelligent and amicable man. John was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bradenton, FL, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He achieved designation of 3rd Degree Alhambra. Funeral arrangements are being handled through Griffith Cline, Bradenton, FL. A gathering of friends and relatives for a Remembrance of Life Celebration will be held at Griffith Cline, 720 Manatee Ave. West, Bradenton, from 3-5p.m. on Saturday, March 20th with benediction. Internment will be in New Jersey. Festa Memorial Funeral Home 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, NJis in charge of arrangements. All are requested to meet for a Catholic Mass for Burial at family church 'Our Lady of Pompeii' RC Church, Caldwell Avenue and Dayton Street on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 9:30 AM with burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa to include Military Honor Guard.
