Obituary of Stella M. Fava

Fava, Stella M. died peacefully at home with family by her side after a seven month illness. She was 93. Born, raised and educated in Paterson, she graduated Central High School and attended Traphagen School of Design and Rutgers University. Stella was a secretary in the office of Cedar Lawn Cemetery as a young woman. In the early 1960's she was executive secretary to the mayor of Paterson. Then, she was principal clerk/stenographer and office manager for the Department of Community Improvement and Development for many years. She retired at 75 but missed working. An avid reader, accomplished seamstress and fantastic Italian cook, Stella was a staunch Democrat and active and productive until her infirmity. For over seventy years, she was a resident of Paterson and then spent her last twenty years in Little Falls. She is survived by her daughter Catherine M. Fava, and W.R. Daniels, her sister, Julia Melone of Totowa Boro, and her brothers William Cirangle of Little Falls, Louis Cirangle of Wayne and George Cirangle of Florham Park. Many in-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces, a godson, friends and neighbors will miss her. Stella was predeceased by her parents, Oreste (Ernest) and Filomena (Mae) Cirangle, her husband, Vincent James Fava, her sisters, Rose Rota and Rachel Parisi, and her brothers, John Cirangle, Ernest Cirangle, Lawrence Cirangle and Frank Cirangle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Monday from 9-10 AM.
