Nowen, Herman J. "Pop" age 92 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on May 28, 2009. Beloved husband of the late and former Eleanor Cortese (1984). Loving Father of Nancy L. King and her husband Douglas O. of Totowa, David J. Nowen and his wife Diana of Totowa and the late Maryann Schmunk (1971). Grandfather of Gregory D., Michael, and Christopher King, Sara, and Matthew Nowen, Gretchen Minadeo and James Schmunk. Great Grandfather of Maryssa and Nicholas Minadeo and Isabella King. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson before moving to Totowa sixty years ago. He was a Truck Mechanic for Curtiss Wright Corp., Wood Ridge for thirty seven years before retiring in 1983. After that, he was a Driver for Daval Hardware Associates, Totowa for many years. Mr. Nowen was a WW II Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:15 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. For more information, go to www.festamemorial.com.
