Dear Nino, More than 20 years ago I lost my dad. In time I have moved on from the intense sense of loss, but there are moments that remind me of him and still bring tears to my eyes. I hope you will take time to reflect on the lessons that only those closest to us can teach us. I am so sorry for your loss. I send you a virtual sincere hug. Amy

I remember Zio Tonino as a man full of laughter. He loved to be in the company of others, especially family. You could not be in a bad mood around him. All you could do was to laugh with him. He loved life, no matter where it took him. He will be remembered with great respect. Our sincerest sympathy to his loving family. Bob and Angela Kronmiller

Zio - Thank you for loving and supporting me when I needed family the most. You always made me feel like one of your own. You raised three wonderful children who are brothers and sisters to me and married an angel who inspires me to be a better, stronger person every day. Your passing has made all of us realize how short and precious life is and that we should talk, visit, share laughter and say "I love you" every chance we get. I will forever keep you close in my heart. I love you Zio.

Nino posted a condolence
Hi Papa.
Well, we buried your body yesterday, and put closure to your mortal life. A week has passed since you were called from this life to begin a new journey, where you are safe, and see much beauty, and peace. We will be reminded of that as we hear the birds, which whistle some of your favorite tunes. During this week we were forced to make decisions, and arrangements for your partying celebration, but it was difficult. Thank you, and your nearby angels for your guidance. We hope we did a good job for you. We know you would not have wanted anything elaborate, but we wanted it for you. From your bird’s-eye view we know you observed all the love and support we received from your earthly brothers and sisters, in respect for us and in tribute to you. We are grateful for this, since it will carry us for the days to come, when our real work begins in dealing with your physical absence.
I do not think I have said thank you enough when I had the opportunity, but thank you for giving me life, and for knowing you. I believe I know you better now, than ever before from all the pictures I have revisited, and the stories I have heard from loved ones. You were a good man. Until the day we are reunited, I will continue living my life, knowing that you are watching over me, Mamma, Antonietta and Gabriele. Therefore, I will not say good bye.
God Bless You.
I Love You.
Nino
