de Baez, Mercedes Dolores (nee Batista Morillo), age 94 of Ridgefield Park at rest in Jersey City on January 13, 2009. Born in the Dominican Republic, she lived in there before coming to the United States in 1977 residing in New York, New York then in Jersey City before settling in Ridgefield Park. She was a Teacher in the Dominican Republic for 32 years before retiring in 1973. Beloved wife of the late Roselio Baez (2008). Loving Mother of Mirian Reardon of the Dominican Republic, Carmen Coste of Paterson, Cesar Baez of Ridgefield Park, Venecia Torres of Jersey City, and the late Socrates Baez. Sister of the late Carmen Vda de Mateo and Eliceo Batista. Grandmother of 17 and Great Grandmother of 18. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. John's Cathedral, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
