Obituary of Walter A. De Palma

De Palma, Walter A. age 92 of Cedar Grove at rest in Cedar Grove on November 30, 2008. Beloved husband of the late and former Theresa De Vito. Father of Elaine T. Walsh and her husband Thomas of Montclair, Vincent J. De Palma and his wife Letitia of Rockaway, Dr. Walter P. De Palma and his wife Helle of Linwood and Raymond J. De Palma and his wife Marianne of Lakewood. Grandfather of eight and Great Grandfather of eight. Brother of Angelina Brandt of Hawthorne and Jean Ciarleglio of Paterson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson,West Paterson and Somers Point before moving to Cedar Grove in 2007. He was an Expeditor for Kearfott, West Paterson for 20 years before retiring in 1970. Prior to that, he was Proprietor of De Palma's Grocery Store, West Paterson. Mr. De Palma was a professional boxer in Paterson. He was a parishioner of St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson on Wednesday at 10:15 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
