She was the President of the Holy Cross Adoration So¬ciety. We all new Luba. Her service to take care for the altars by cleaning, ironing altar linens was remarkable. She would ask me when we will change the altar linens for Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and ordinary time. At the beginning she was coming with John to do this special service. John would do his part by cleaning brass candle holders, including collection plates. He made candle holders for the Adoration Society.
Later when late husband John was too weak Luba would come with someone from the society and more recently trained other sisters of the society to do her job. Luba was taking care for her husband John, giving encouragement to walk, and kept him strong. After John passed away she continued to come to the church sat in the first pew, light the candle as the member of the Adoration Society. She remained member of this society until the end. We remember her as very active member in helping in many fundraisers of the parish. Her son John would bring Luba to the church activities. The Mothers Day Breafast was one of the recent. Moving in Brick since this summer, she still was very interested about the life of the Holy Cross. She did her share to be a part of her church.
With the members of Adoration Society we visited Luba on her birthday at home. Holy Communion, prayers and then a cup of tea, birthday cake and of course tasty apple pie we was ready for us. I made it for you.
On that day and recently talking to her, we all though that Luba would easy reach the age of ninety. We looked for her 90th birthday celebration.
Of course the massage of her passing shocked all of us, even though she was 89. We all miss her.
I express my sympathy to John, Helen, grandchildren Jean Tierney and other relatives and friends. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

John and family,
My condolences go to all of you at this difficult time. Your fond memories and her eternal love for you will eventually ease the pain to allow you to go forward. I'm sure it is what your mom would have wanted. It may be difficult to hear at this time but be grateful for the long time that you had with her. It is a gift in life ...
Peace to all of you,
Marlene
