Yarcich, William, beloved husband for 66 years of Muriel (nee Walker), died Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Cedar Grove. Born in Czechoslovakia, he came to America, lived in Passaic and then Paterson where he resided for the past 79 years, living in the Totowa section. He graduated Eastside High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II aboard a mine sweeper. He was a Letter Carrier in Paterson for 30 years mostly in the Riverside section and was a member of the Post Office Veteran's and DAV. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Paterson and a past officer of the NALC. Survived by his wife, Muriel; son, William (Arlene) of Yorktown, VA; a daughter, Muriel (Paul) Sheridan of New York; and Eileen (Thomas) Morabito of Sebastopol, CA; 2 Grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Cox of Richmond, VA and Brian (Ayfer) Yarcich of Fort Wayne, IN; Great grandchildren Gavin and Kylie Cox of Virginia. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen (Arthur) Silcher. Also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bill's name to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532 or mass cards would be greatly appreciated by the family. "Those were the days."
