Obituary of Bernice LaPorta

LaPorta, Bernice (nee Capaldo) age 61 of Hawthorne at rest in Hawthorne on January 17, 2008. Born in Paterson, she lived in Hawthorne. She was the Owner and Operator of Berlap Productions, Hawthorne for 20 years. Mrs. LaPorta received her Bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University and her Master's degree from William Paterson University. She was a teacher at St. Mary's, Paterson. Bernice was also a teacher at Boonton High School for 14 years and an adjunct professor at William Paterson University, Wayne for 12 years. Beloved wife of Bernard LaPorta of Hawthorne. Dear daughter of the late Rose (nee DiPaola) Capaldo. Niece of Marge "Babe" Alvino of Paterson, Viola Cascone of Hawthorne and Louise Torell of Maywood. Also survived by many cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers donations to New York-Presbyterian Pancreas Center, 161 Fort Washington Avenue, NewYork, NY 10032 in care of Dr. Chabot would be appreciated.
