I am so sad to learn of the passing of dear Uncle Matt. He was such a kind, gentle soul. I will always remember his quiet ways when he'd come to visit my grandmother Jennie for tea and cookies. They don't make many men like Uncle Matt any more. The world will certainly be a poorer place without him.

Edie and Matt, I spent many days working with your father on many of my parents projects. I especially remmeber working at the house down the shore and how we would take a coffee break. Matt always drank his Sanka as we shared animal crackers. He showed me alot and every time I hang a door I always think of how he taught me all the tricks to do it. His kind and gentle personality reminded me of my dear grandmother. As I grew up I thought of him first as a Great Uncle, then an Uncle and then as a friend. I will always remeber Matt with his flannel shirt, tan pants, hammer in his hand and a big smile on his face.

Jesse and Dolores Bisbal posted a condolence
Dear Uncle Matt, you’ve been called to serve our Father, but your memories will remain with all of us, Jesse, Dolores, Peter, Paul, Preston and Prentice. Your craftsmanship surrounds us everyday having help us build our house over 30 years ago in Hardyston as well as helping us with our house in Paterson. Your kindness and attentiveness in watching Prentice climb the scaffold while you installed the siding will always be appreciated.
While we take many things for granted in these United States, we thank you for serving in the Army and keeping our peace to maintain our freedom. How appropriate that you left us on Veterans Day, 2007. Good-by, Uncle Matt. Jesse, Dolores, Peter, Paul, Preston, and Prentice Bisbal.

We remember Uncle Matt as a kind and gentle person. He did some work at our home many years ago, but he left a lasting impression as a wonderful human being.
Although it has been several years since we have seen him, we heard our family speak of him with high regard. He will be missed.
