Duran, Himera (nee Correa Manjarres), age 85 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on March 13, 2024. Beloved wife of Angel Julio Duran of Paterson. Loving mother of Maria del Carmen Duran of Paterson, Julio Angel Duran of South River, Stacey Shetty & her husband, Rohan of Hopatcong, and Joannie Duran of Allendale.

Devoted grandmother of Aitana Gonzalez, Tiana Duran, Anabella Gonzalez, Tatiana Duran, Pharoahe Dixon, Kristen Shetty, Gabriel Duran, Antonio Shetty, and Sveva Dixon. Dear sister of Mercedes Manjarres, Yolanda Manjarres, Luis Miguel Manjarres, Rafael Manjarres, Margarita Manjarres, Jacob Manjarres, Paulina Manjarres, Jose Antonio Manjarres, Jesus Alberto Manjarres, Jorge Tadeo Manjarres, Maria Auxiliadora Manjarres and the late Carlos Arturo Manjarres, Ester Helena Manjarres, Socorro Manjarres, Carmen Genith Manjarres, and Benjamin Manjarres. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in La Guajira Fonseca, Colombia, she came to the United States in 1975 and resided in Paterson.

Himera was a Teacher for the Ecumenical Preschool, Inc., Paterson from 1993-2004. Prior to that, she was a Principal in Colombia and founded Jardin Infantil Maria Auxiliadora Elementary School in La Guajira Fonseca. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson and a member of their Cursillo de Cristiandad and the Moviemento de Cursillo, Diocese de Paterson. Prior to her marriage, Himera was a novice in the Salesian Order in Santa Marta. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Monday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Mary's R.C. Church, 410 Union Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07502 and/or St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38102 would be appreciated.
