Cruz, Juana (nee Aponte), age 78 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on April 2, 2024. Beloved wife of Juan Cruz of Paterson. Loving mother of Evelyn Tosado & her husband Juan of Paterson, Yesenia Cruz-Parga & her husband Mario of Paterson, and Albert Cruz & his wife Vincenza of Oak Ridge. Devoted grandmother of Ashley Tosado, Kiara Tosado, Gavin Parga and Makayla Parga. Great grandmother of Marley Urbina. Sister of Antonio Aponte of Puerto Rico, Eulalia Medina of Puerto Rico, Delia Sepulveda of Puerto Rico and Ana Rosado of New York State. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Princess and rooster, Freddie. Born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, she came to the mainland in 1964 settling in Paterson. She was a Seamstress for Lite Industries, Paterson for over 30 years before retiring in 1996. Juana was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Paterson. She was a great cook, and she especially enjoyed Sunday dinner. Family meant everything to her. She was a babysitter for family and friends whom all called her grandma. She was larger than life and loved everyone and touched everyone that she met. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa on Saturday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:15 PM. Cremation was private at the request of the family.
