Obituary of Raffaele M Carfi

Carfi, Raffaele M. age 64 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on October 12, 2017. Beloved husband of thirty eight years of the former Joann V. Furnari. Loving father of Adele Cuesta and her husband John of Glen Rock, Claudia Bianca Mc Glinn and her husband Brion of Garwood and Peter Mario Carfi and his long term girlfriend Rita Modzelewski of Totowa. Dear grandfather of Audrey Noelle Cuesta and Colette Lauren Mc Glinn. Brother of Salvatore Carfi of Hackensack and Giuseppe Carfi of Hawthorne. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Born in Ragusa, Sicily, he was raised in Santa Croce Camerina, Prov. di Ragusa, Sicily. He came to the U.S.A. in 1970 settling in Hackensack before moving to Totowa thirty years ago. He was a Plumber Foreman for the railroad for thirty one years before retiring in 2010. Mr. Carfi was a member of the Santa Croce Camerina Society, Hawthorne.  He was a member of the Alfa Romeo Driving Club. He was an avid Juventeus Soccer Fan. He enjoyed his beach house in Manahawkin as well as tending to his garden. He also enjoyed purchashing and repairing vintage Italian sports cars. He cherished time spent with his family and his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, Totowa. Relatives and friends may visit Sunday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
