Obituary of Italo Veltri

Veltri, Italo "Ray" age 88 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on December 1, 2016. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Di Loreto) Veltri of Totowa. Loving father of Deborah Marcus and her husband Fredric of New Vernon, and Steven Veltri and his wife Pauline of Kinnelon. Adoring grandfather of Jacqueline, Tara, Justin, Caroline, Alexandra, and Katherine. Dear brother of Ben Veltri and his wife Rose, Angelo Veltri and his wife Barbara, and Anna Liccardo and her husband Frank. Caring brother-in law of Henrietta Di Paolo and her husband Vilmo. Mr. Veltri was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson until 1953, before moving to Totowa. He was a physical education teacher for Charles De Wolf Middle School, Old Tappan, for 35 years before retiring. Mr. Veltri was an umpire, official, and referee for high school and college sports, affiliated with S.C.O.A, F.B.O.A., N.J.B.O.A., V.F.H.S. He was also a WW II Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Friends may visit Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
