Obituary of Fiore A Malzone

Malzone, Fiore A. age 82 of Haledon, died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in Wayne on February 13, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Rose (nee Pappalardo) Malzone. Loving Father of Michael Malzone of Wayne, Anthony Malzone of West Milford, Patricia Malzone of Paterson and Rose Marie LaBruna of Haledon. Grandfather of Kristen Marie and Nicole Ann La Bruna. Great Grandfather of Janessa Rose Suarez. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson, before moving to Haledon. He served valiantly in the Navy during WWII. He served the city of Paterson as a police officer for two years and then joined the Fire Department, where he spent the next 25 years. Fiore received numerous valor awards for his heroic service as a Paterson firefighter before retiring as Captain in 1986. He was a parishioner of St. Gerard R. C. Church, Paterson, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Paterson, and a member of the Riverside Vets, Paterson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
