Vilchez Rua, Elodia age 96 of Wayne at rest in Paterson on July 8, 2026. Loving mother of Zelma Palomino and her husband William Llerena of Wayne and Miguel Garcia and his wife Rosa Mendoza of Paterson. Dear grandmother of Jackelin, Jonathan, Ronald, Jean, Cynthia and Fabiola. Also surviving are four siblings and many nieces and nephews. Born in Ayacucho, Peru, she came to the U.S.A. in 2001 settling in Paterson before moving to Wayne in 2023. Elodia was a Homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson. She loved knitting and making clothing for her grandchildren. She was a great cook of traditional Peruvian dishes. She was a very hard worker and very active. Elodia treated everyone like family as if you were her own children. She enjoyed world soccer and boxing and enjoyed road trips, the Jersey Shore, Atlantic City and traveling in general. She was the matriarch of the family and was very sweet to all who met her. Elodia cherished time spent with her grandchildren and her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 5:00-9:00 PM.
