Angelo Minardi, 91, of Hawthorne, NJ, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer on March 6, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Brigida Minardi for 63 years. Loving father of Concettina Ferrara and her husband Angelo, Rocco Minardi and his wife Joann and John Minardi and his wife Nunziatina. Dear brother of Lucia Fisci and the late Nunzio and Nicola Minardi. Grandfather of Angela Maria Pucciarelli and her husband Anthony, Luigi Ferrara and his wife Cindy, Michael Angelo Minardi, Lauren Nicole Minardi, Angelo Minardi and Sofia Minardi. Great-grandfather of Giuliana, Valentina, Luca, Angelo and Serafina. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as "Nonno". Born in Gela, Sicily, Italy, Angelo was a Merchant Marine when he immigrated to the United States in 1956 in pursuit of the American Dream. He resided in Paterson, NJ, before moving to Hawthorne in 1970. He worked in the textile industry as a machinist for many years before retiring. Angelo was a member of the Gela Social Club in Paterson and the Juventus Club in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a hardworking family man who will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:30 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit on Thursday from 4-8 P.M.
