Laudati, Giovanni of Totowa, passed away peacefully in Paramus on February 5, 2026 at the age of 84. Previously married to Giuseppina Maria Bavarro for 28 years. He later shared 33 years with his beloved wife, Wanda Gaita of Totowa, with whom he built his life in America. Known as the loving father of Giulia Laudati and her husband Simone De Feo of Italy, Maria Martin and her husband Alan of Totowa, and Marco Gaita and his wife Melissa of Long Valley. Giovanni was the adoring grandfather of Valentina, Samantha, Justin, Marco Jr., Annabella, Alex, and Ashley. Loving brother of Antonietta Laudati and her husband Claudio Ambrosone of Italy, the late Gemma, and Giuseppina Laudati.
Born in Forino, Italy, Giovanni lived and thrived there for 19 years, and he developed a passion for entrepreneurship which he brought with him while immigrating to the United States. He entered this country with a few dollars in one pocket and many dreams in the other. He settled in Paterson for 11 years before making Totowa his home. Through hard work he achieved the American dream. It was through his focus that he became a successful businessman in a plethora of industries which honored his Italian heritage. Giovanni Laudati was a distinguished member of the Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (Cavaliere), an achievement he held close to his heart. He loved to cook, watch old television shows, and captivate those around him with his stories—but above all, he cherished his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa, at 10:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
