Martone, Susan L. (nee Finkbeiner), age 70 of Haledon at rest in Hackensack on December 16, 2025. Beloved wife of forty-six years to Anthony Martone, Jr. of Haledon. Loving mother of Christopher Martone and his wife Dominique of Wayne and step mother of Eric Martone of CT. Dear grandmother of Domenic Martone, Gianna Martone, Jolie Martone, Noelle Martone and Adriano Martone. Sister of Craig Finkbeiner and Beverly Finkbeiner, both of MI. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and her pet dog, Charlie and her pet cat, Mittens. Born in Denville, she lived in Toms River before moving to Haledon in 1989. Susan was a Medical Transcriptionist for Clifton Medical Resources, Clifton for over thirty years before retiring in 2015. Today, we release our beloved Susan Martone into memory. A devoted storyteller, she moved through life as a loving wife, mother, step mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend—gathering hearts wherever she went. Purple was Susan's favorite color, a quiet symbol of courage and sacrifice. In her final years, she wore those qualities beautifully, fighting with grace and strength. We are forever grateful for the extra time we were gifted—to listen, to love, and to hold her close. Susan had a gentle soul. She listened without judgment, loved without condition, and spoke with kindness. Her stories, her warmth, and that unmistakable side smirk will linger in our hearts like a familiar song. We ask that you remember Susan not in sorrow, but in love—and carry her memory with you, always. Cremation was private.
