Patricia Wheeler (formerly Hannan) of Barnegat, NJ (formerly of Pompton Plains, NJ) died peacefully on December 10, 2025 surrounded by her family. She made them laugh right up to the end in a way that only she could. She was deeply loved and loving, extraordinarily strong, incredibly kind, razor sharp and wildly funny. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Pat was born Patricia Ann Lyle in Paterson NJ on January 16th 1932 to parents Ross & Mary Lyle. She was a loving sister to her three siblings, predeceased by the late Mary Leah Hascup and Ross Lyle and survived by her loving sister Gail Cortese of Pico Rivera, CA. Pat married her first husband and the great love of her life, the late William (Bill) Hannan on December 27, 1951. Together they had six children and were happily married until Bill's death in November 1979. She later married the late George Wheeler on October 13, 1995 and they lived happily until his death in October 2008. Pat was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her son, the late Ross Hannan and her grandson the late Ross Hannan, Jr and is survived by her 5 remaining children: Bill Hannan (wife Lorraine) of Sparta, NJ, Cathy Giuliana (husband Ed) of Ocean Grove NJ, Sue Varcadipane (husband Vince) of Totowa, NJ, Barbara Mason (husband Jim) of Barnegat, NJ, and Trish Kenney (husband Bob) of Freehold NJ. She is also survived by her remaining grandchildren: Laura Hannan (husband Mike Rosenberg), Alexis Mason, Vinny Varcadipane (wife Laura), Jim Mason, Nick Varcadipane (wife Angela), Bill Hannan (wife Katie), Kyle Giuliana (wife Keri), Carolyn Hannan (husband Frank Amatucci), Lizzy Hannan, Erin Kenney, Brett Giuliana (wife Hannah), Skylar Kenney (wife Ayame Whitfield) and Jillian Leutner (nee Hannan) (husband Cody). Her great grandchildren Juliet Rosenberg, Hannah Rosenberg, MacKenzie Varcadipane, Emma Varcadipane, Nicholas Varcadipane, Vivian Varcadipane, Teagan Giuliana, Caden Giuliana, Brayden Amatucci and Sienna Leutner. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Sunday 3 - 7 PM.
