My heart breaks for every one of you, including Eric. I remember what a good-hearted, respectful, young man he was, and probably one of the nicest friends my son ever had. Words do not offer solace when you lose a child. There are no words to comfort a Mom suffering from the loss of her son. So none of this matters, but I am placing these words here because I am not sure who needs to hear them, but I know God’s complicated work is meant to be shared. In the way He shared this beautiful soul, Eric, with Pam, Tom, and their families and friends. Pam, you have fiercely loved, cared for, and nurtured Eric for 30 years. You have harvested a beautiful human until he was returned to the heavens. I want, no, I need to thank you. Thank you for sharing him with us. Thank you for letting us see him grow. Thank you for letting us be part of his life. Thank you for sharing your love with us and allowing us to be witness to the mother-son bond you share. May this bond transcend space and time. I am so saddened to hear of Eric’s passing. I had the privilege of working with Eric for a few years. Eric had a fantastic personality, charismatic beyond words. He was not only a great worker, he was a team player who would always lend a hand to anyone who needed help. He was truly a very good person. My loving sweet Eric. I have been looking at all the pictures I have of you growing through the years. Your beautiful blue eyes, your contagious smile.....these are just few things I will only be able to see again in pictures. This was not how it was supposed to be....you and me where supposed to be a team....forever. My heart hurts and is so broken. You had a full life to live, with so many people who loved you. I will never know why you decided your life was not worth living, I only hope you are at peace and have found Grandpa and are chatting up a storm and getting ready to go fishing. This will not get easier, only harder as each day is another without you. Your Momma Bear loves you soooooo much kiddo. My life will never be the same.
