Doreen Riviello (née Sistaro), age 67, of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Hackensack, NJ.

Born on May 23, 1958, in Saddle Brook, Doreen was the beloved wife of David, devoted mother of Christopher, and cherished mother-in-law of Samantha. She is also survived by her loving sister Denise, nieces Colleen and Christine, and her adored dogs Kona and Zoe, as well as her grand-dog Paco. She was predeceased by her parents, John Sistaro and Johanna Mason, whom she deeply loved.

Doreen had a lifelong appreciation for the arts, creating stunning works across a variety of mediums. One of her favorite projects - a handmade puppet of musician David Bowie, crafted in high school - reflected both her creativity and admiration for the artist. She joyfully shared this passion with her son Christopher and her nieces Colleen and Christine, often during many re-watches of Labyrinth.

Her creative spirit also defined her professional life. Doreen began her career as a talented dyer at Leader Dyeing and Finishing, where she became one of the few women in the trade in New Jersey. She later found her calling as the proud owner of Amazonas Exotic Floral Designs, where her artistry brought beauty and happiness to countless people. Whether designing arrangements for weddings, special events, or personal celebrations, her work left a lasting impression - it was often said that “no one does work like Doreen.”

Above all, Doreen found her greatest joy in her family. Her childhood nickname, “Cookie,” given by her grandmother for her sweet nature, perfectly captured her gentle and loving spirit. She shared a lifelong bond with her sister Denise, filled with memories including playing on stilts as children and summers at Greenwood Lake. Doreen treasured time with her loved ones, especially during cherished traditions like Christmas Eve dinners at her father’s home. She delighted in the simple joys of life - completing craft projects with her son Christopher and daughter-in-law Samantha, enjoying long family dinners, and spending peaceful hours in her garden or outdoors with her husband, David. Doreen had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel at home through her incredible cooking, her nurturing heart, and the warmth that filled every room. Her spirit and kindness will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Festa Memorial Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, NJ.

Doreen will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
