Alberta J. Valentino Obituary

Alberta (Cetrano) Valentino

February 8, 1935 – November 8, 2025

Alberta Valentino (née Cetrano), 90, of Wayne, formerly of Paterson, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025.

Born on February 8, 1935, in Paterson, New Jersey, Alberta spent her early years working alongside her father at Guerino's Bicycle Shop in Paterson as a bookkeeper. Her creativity and talent later led her to positions as a layout artist for a local printing company and subsequently for The Paterson News.

A lifelong and devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Paterson, Alberta served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister, Rosarian, and organist. She shared her love of faith and the arts by teaching Art and CCD at St. Mary's School, inspiring generations of students through her kindness and creativity.

In 1954, Alberta married the love of her life, the late Anthony "Tony" Valentino. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three daughters.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony, her daughter Dorothy Velez and husband Hiram, and her great-grandson Giovanni Pellone.

Alberta is survived by her daughters, Rose Mastroianni and her husband Eugene, and Toni Patullo and her husband Joseph. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren—Ashley and her fiancé Estiv, Lindsey and her partner Sean, Krystie and her husband Joseph, Joey, Anthony and his partner Amanda, Dennis, Jose, Tatiana and her fiancé Carmine, and Gyanna—and by eight adored great-grandchildren.

Alberta will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, creativity, and faith touched all who knew her. She loved playing the piano and accordion, enjoyed art and music, and was known for her amazing cooking.

In her later years, Alberta made her home at Brookdale Wayne Senior Living, where she was lovingly cared for by a team of devoted associates who became like family.

Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
