Abate, Rosa (nee Rubino), age 90 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on November 8, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Antonio Abate (2021). Loving mother of Gerardo Abate of Totowa, and John Abate and his wife Tracey of Middlesex Boro. Adoring grandmother of Alexis Abate, Amanda Curll and her husband Christopher, and Anthony Abate and his wife Lexie. Dear sister of Antoinette Forte of Australia and the late Violetta Malagisi. Born in Minturno, Italy, she lived there for 23 years, immigrated to Australia, before arriving in the United States in 1970 and settling in Totowa. She was a seamstress for various clothing factories in Paterson, and worked as a school cafeteria employee in Wayne before retiring. Rosa was involved in the Italian American Club, Totowa, but she was most proud to be the best Nonna to her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Thursday at 12:30 PM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 1:00 PM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
