Rizzo, Michael E. "Mickey", age 89, at rest on October 6, 2025. Beloved husband of sixty six years to the former Josephine M. Carozza of Totowa. Loving father of Annette Hanley and her husband Scott of Totowa, Michele Salvatoriello and her husband Philip of Totowa and Nicole Carreiro and her husband Michael of Hamburg. Dear grandfather of Michael Hanley and his wife Megan, Giana Carreiro, Gabriella Carreiro and the late Eric Hanley (1989). Great grandfather of Alessandra and Eleonora Hanley. Brother of Gloria Tomacho of Clifton and Jean Hanley of Wyckoff. Mickey was pre deceased by nine siblings. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived most of his life in Totowa. Mickey was a Custodian for the Totowa Board of Education, working at both Memorial and Washington Park schools for over twenty years before retiring in 2019. Prior to that, he was a Supervisor for Leader Dye & Finishing Co., Paterson. Mickey lived with his whole heart—loving deeply, laughing freely, and working hard in all he did. With a silly sense of humor and a gift for making everyone feel truly loved, he brought light and warmth wherever he went. He found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life: cheering on his beloved Yankees, tending to his garden, and spending sunny days by the pool. Whether he was traveling to Aruba or enjoying the excitement of Atlantic City, he embraced life's pleasures with gratitude and joy—but above all, he most cherished the time he spent with his family. Mickey held onto those he loved tenaciously, never letting a day go by without showing how much they meant to him. His presence was a gift and his love was constant—and his memory endures in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:45 AM. A mass of the resurrection will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson at 11:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
