Rose M. (nee Lattanzio) Corbo, age 93 of Paterson passed away on August 14, 2025. Rose was born in raised in the Bronx, New York. In 1954, she married Raymond Corbo and moved to Paterson, New Jersey. Rose began her career working as a secretary on the 79th floor of the Empire State Building in New York. She then worked for the Manhattan Shirt Company, Paterson. From 1956-1957, Rose worked for Wright Aeronautical, Paterson in their Union. Rose spent the next years of her life as the ultimate homemaker as she raised her children. She then worked for Spectrachem Fabric Dye House in Paterson as an office manager and bookkeeper until 1989. After that, she was the head bookkeeper for Bradley Pharmaceutical, Fairfield before her retirement. During her tenure at Bradley Pharmaceutical, the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange. Rose loved traveling, most especially cruising to Hawaii and a 2 week trip to Italy with family and friends. She enjoyed going to the casinos and playing Bingo. She was the ultimate caretaker for her mother, who Rose cared for at home until her mother passed away at 102 years of age. In addition to her mother, Rose cared for many other elderly relatives. Her friends and loved ones will remember her as a strong willed woman. She forged many long lasting friendships, most especially one beginning from when whe was 3 years old. Rose was considered the matriarch of Maitland Avenue and was the last surviving original homeowner on the block. She continued to keep in touch with those who moved away, and made new frienships with those who moved in. She considered her neighbors to be her family and shared a bond with old and new alike. Rose was a faithful parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson and was a member of its Seniors Citizens Club, and she continued to attend monthly luncheons with the ladies of the club. Rose was "One Special Lady" and her family would like to thank all who assisted her throughout her life.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Filomena Lattanzio, as well as her beloved husband, Raymond Corbo and her brother, Albert Lattanzio and her great grandson, Judah. She is the loving mother of Joyce Corbo of Paterson, Raymond Corbo & his wife Laurie of New Egypt, and Richard Corbo of Wayne. She is the caring grandmother of Raymond Corbo & his wife Heather, Gina Purvis & her husband Dave, Amy Lockshin & her husband Joe, Rhiannon Corbo and Richie Corbo. Dear great grandmother of Antonio, Ella, Isaac, Caleb, Zoe, Lily and Vera.
Visitation will be Monday, August 18, 2025 at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral will be on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, departing the funeral home at 10:30 AM for a Funeral Mass at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105 would be appreciated.
