Demarest, Albert age 80 of Wayne at rest in Wayne on July 10, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette (nee Thompson) Demarest. Loving father of Annette Juskiewicz & her husband Robert of West Milford, Matthew Demarest & his wife Carla of Brick, and Jefferey Demarest & his wife Patricia of Stroudsburg, PA. Al is the son of the late Rudy and the late Anna (nee Recchio) Demarest. Dear grandfather of Mackenzie, Peyton, Abigail, Justin, Jessica, Kate, Owen, Ryan, Dylan, and Derek. Beloved brother of Paulette De Mauro of Lincoln Park, Joann Demarest of Hawley, PA and Celeste Zaleski of Longs, SC.

Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson, before moving to West Milford in 1973. Albert was a Teacher for Wayne Valley High School, teaching health and physical education and was a supervisor for those subjects in the Wayne School District. Albert belonged to the Paterson Old Timers Association and was a lifetime member of the Passaic County Coaches Association. He attended every sporting event of his grandchildren. Al spent 40 years in education mostly at Wayne Valley where he was the head track coach, assistant football coach, and assistant wrestling coach. He dedicated his life to his students. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard RC Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Cremation will be private. Friends may visit Tuesday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
