Obituary of Rose S Iannelli

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Early on the morning of the 8th of May 2025, Rose Iannelli (nee Argentieri), quietly left us to be reunited with her loved ones in heaven. She was 96 years old.

She was born in Paterson, NJ where she lived before getting married and moving to Totowa with her husband and sons in 1961 and where she still resided today.

Rose was predeceased by her devoted husband Nunzio "Jim" Iannelli (2014) and her infant son Paul Gerard (1966). She was the last surviving of nine children to the late Frances (Episcopo) and Dominic Argentieri. Sister of the late Anthony, Frank, Nick, Albert and Vincent Argentieri, Angelina Gauger, Bernice Titmas and Gloria Trentacosta.

She is survived by her sons James and Thomas Iannelli and their wives Aurora (Morse) and Susan (Pluymers) as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and her caregivers who all loved her and remember her fondly. Susan and Aurora will always be grateful for being immediately and warmly welcomed into her family as if they were her own daughters.

Rose enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved having the family over for birthdays, holidays and for just about any reason so everyone could be together to have fun like playing a crazy card game called "spoons" which left everyone laughing out loud. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She spent hours decorating her home until every piece of tinsel on the tree was perfectly placed and cooking up a storm, especially stuffed artichokes. She often fondly recalled the Argentieri Christmas tradition of exchanging gag gifts affectionately known to the family as "the hobbies". She enjoyed going to tricky trays, on senior trips and to the casinos, where to the bewilderment of all and some good fortune, she always came home with more money than when she got there.

She was someone you could count on; a straight shooter who got her point across without judgement and always provided sound advice. May the Lord watch over her soul and may she rest in eternal peace.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Lynn whose love, devotion and close friendship helped mom and the family in her final years. She has been a Godsend.

Death is nothing more than going home to God, the bond of love will be unbroken for all eternity. Mother Teresa
