Child, Jo Anne M. (nee La Rosa), age 80 of Wayne at rest in Wayne on March 12, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Chester S. Child (1988). Loving mother of Laura Cruz and her husband Diego of Hawthorne and Christine Fontanazza and her husband Vincent Timony of Haledon. Dear daughter of the late Angelo and the late Anna (nee Del Cuore) La Rosa. Loving grandmother of Jessica Cruz and Christopher Hascup of Haskell and Andrew Cruz and his fiancée Heather Darley of Hawthorne. Born in Paterson, she spent most of her life in the Paterson area before moving to Wayne eighteen years ago. She was a Registered Nurse in many different fields of nursing for twenty eight years before retiring in 1993. Jo Anne was a graduate of Central High School in Paterson. She was also a graduate of Mt.Sinai Hospital School of Nursing, New York City. She was also a member of the Mt Sinai Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. Jo Anne loved to travel, especially to Walt Disney World, Puerto Rico, and Las Vegas. She loved to celebrate Christmas and would start to decorate in August. She always celebrated her family and had many photos of them in and around her home. Jo Anne especially adored her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Friends may visit on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or The Salvation Army, 541-545 West Broadway, Paterson, NJ 07522.
