Polo Garcia, Jorge A. "El Toro" age 93 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on February 20, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Gilma (nee Amezquita) Polo. Loving father of Hugo Polo and his wife Carmen, Marla Zisa and her husband Reno, Erick Polo and his life partner Barbara, Gina Miles and her husband Dan, Monica D'Angeles and her husband Adimir and the late Jorge Polo. Also survived by twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Born in Riofrio, Colombia, he came to the United States in 1968 and resided in Paterson. He was a Quality Control Technician for Teledyne Farris Engineering, Palisades Park, for many years before retiring. Jorge graduated from Universidad del Atlantico, Colombia with his PhD in Chemical Engineering and also taught mathematics there and was the Chief of the Physics Lab. He was an avid chess player, loved working on puzzles and enjoyed reading books. Jorge had a very dry sense of humor that will be greatly missed. He was also a great swimmer and always swam way out in the ocean. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
