Obituary of Maureen Mulroony
Please share a memory of Maureen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Maureen Mulroony, a woman of boundless kindness, grace, and love. She had the warmest spirit, a beautiful soul, a pretty face and a heart of gold. To know her was to love her, and those fortunate enough to be part of her life will forever cherish the joy and light she brought into the world.
Maureen was a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She poured her love into her family with unwavering devotion. She leaves behind her children, Kristen Taffin and her husband Timothy, and Andrew Mingione and his wife Jenelle. Her heart found the greatest joy in her grandchildren Benjamin, Emily and Madelyn Taffin, and Julianna and Joseph Mingione.
She was the beloved daughter of Barbara Mulroony and the late Joseph Mulroony, whose love shaped the incredible woman she became. Maureen was a devoted sister to Marybeth De Lotto and her husband Mark, Patricia Mulroony, Timothy Mulroony and his wife Danielle, Ellen Bucher and her husband William, Brian Mulroony and his wife Sara and Matthew Mulroony and his wife Candy. She was also a treasured aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Beyond her family and friendships, Maureen had a deep connection with animals, showing them the same gentleness and empathy she shared with people. Whether rescuing a stray, caring for pets or simply finding comfort in their presence, her compassion knew no bounds. Her love for animals reflected the kindness at the core of who she was.
She was President Elect of the Woodland Park Historical Society for six years and a member of the Woodland Park Planning Board for ten years. She was also a member of the Woodland Park Board of Education for four years as well as a volunteer for the Woodland Park 100 Year Anniversary. Maureen was a dedicated Library Trustee for fourteen years, including ten years as our Library Board President. She was also Support Staff for the Passaic County Sheriff's Department, Wayne for the past eleven years.
Maureen's kindness, warmth, and generosity will be profoundly missed, but her love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. While we are heartbroken by her passing, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she gave us and the love she left behind. In time, we will heal, but we will never forget the remarkable loving woman she was.
Rest in Peace Maureen. You will always be loved.
