De Sopo, Anthony J. age 55 of Totowa at rest in Pike County Pennsylvania on February 7, 2025. Dear son of Mary Rose (nee Severi) De Sopo of Totowa and the late Anthony De Sopo (2015). Loving brother of James A. De Sopo of Neptune. Uncle of Christopher De Sopo, Abigal Rose De Sopo and Chloe Elizabeth De Sopo. Nephew of Philomena De Sopo of Woodland Park and Dr. Carmine De Sopo of North Carolina. Born in Paterson, he lived most of his life in West Paterson before moving to Totowa in 2010. He was a Police Sergeant for the Paterson Police Department, serving there for twenty seven years before retiring in January of 2024. Anthony began his career in Law Enforcement as a member of the Community Service Patrol. He then became a Patrolman, then Detective in the Narcotics Bureau. He was a firearms instructor for the City of Paterson and trained incoming Police every year. Anthony worked the Emergency Services Unit for the Paterson Police also working at the 911 site in New York. He then moved on to the Motorcycle Division and was also a Motorcycle Instructor when he became a Sergeant. He arranged the routes for numerous escorts and coordinated logistics for parades. Anthony donated a lot of his time to the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club #17, Paterson and was currently a member of the St. Michael's Marshalls Motorcycle Club. He has received many citations for his work in the community throughout the years. He also excelled at being a Site Commander. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 9:45 AM. Funeral mass to follow at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society and/or the Alzheimer's Association would be greatly appreciated.
