Obituary of Antonia Rosa Gamarra "Mama Rosita"

Antonia Rosa Pereyra Tello de Gamarra "Mamá Rosita" age 98 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on February 7, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Venancio Gamarra (1992). She was the Matriarch of her family. Mother of Roberto, Hildaura, Eloy, Eva, Gerardina, Genaro, Alberto, Santiago, Coni y Froy. Dear grandmother of twenty eight and great grandmother of twenty one. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Lambrama, Abancay, Apurimac, Peru, she came to the U.S.A. in 1987 settling in Paterson. Mama Rosita was a Homemaker and was a devout Catholic. She was always happy and loved to sing and dance and encouraged the whole family to also sing and dance. Mama Rosita loved Carnavales Abanquinos. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a very humble, generous and giving person especially with food that she always lovingly prepared, not only for her family, but for the entire community. Mama always cherished any time that she got to spend with her loving family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Donations in her memory will go to Iglesia San Blas de Lambrama in Peru.

Antonia Rosa Pereyra Tello de Gamarra, "Mamá Rosita", 98 años de Paterson, descansa en Wayne, el 7 de febrero de 2025. Amada esposa del fallecido Venancio Gamarra (1992). Ella era la matriarca de su familia. Madre de Roberto, Hildaura, Eloy, Eva, Gerardina, Genaro, Alberto, Santiago, Coni y Froy. Querida abuela de veintiocho y bisabuela de veintiuno. También sobreviven muchas sobrinas y sobrinos. Nacida en Lambrama, Abancay, Apurimac, Perú, llegó a los Estados Unidos en 1987 instalándose en Paterson. Mamá Rosita era ama de casa y católica devota. Ella siempre estaba feliz y le encantaba cantar y bailar y animaba a toda la familia a cantar y bailar también. A Mamá Rosita le encantaban los Carnavales Abanquinos. También le gustaban los crucigramas. Era una persona muy humilde y generosa sobre todo con la comida que siempre preparaba con amor, no sólo para su familia sino también para toda la comunidad. Mamá siempre apreciaba cualquier momento que pasaba con su amada familia, sus nietos, bisnietos y sus muchas sobrinas y sobrinos. Los familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir al funeral desde Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, el miércoles 12 de febrero de 2025 a las 9:30 a.m. Seguirá la Misa fúnebre en la Iglesia St. Gerard R.C., Paterson a las 10:00 a.m. El entierro se realizará a continuación en el mausoleo del Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.  Los amigos podrán visitar el martes 11 de febrero de 2025 de 4:00 a 8:00 p.m. Las donaciones en su memoria se destinarán a la Iglesia San Blas de Lambrama en Perú.
