Gutierrez, Melanie, age 16, of Woodland Park, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025.

Melanie was the beloved daughter of Gina Gutierrez and her partner, Jose Rizzo, and was deeply loved by Delvis Calixto. She was the cherished sister of Ryan and Ebony Calixto. Melanie is also survived by her adoring grandmother, Martha Martinez; her aunt, Ana K. Gutierrez; her cousin, Emily Rodriguez; and many other dear friends, family members, and loved ones.

Born in Paterson, Melanie spent her childhood in Passaic and Clifton before moving to Woodland Park just one year ago. Melanie had a radiant passion for singing, drawing, and practicing her makeup. She loved spending time talking to her friends on the phone and adored her baby, Charlie, whom she lovingly called "her baby."

Melanie was a truly special person with a kind and giving heart. She always wanted to be loved and, in turn, offered love and encouragement to those around her. She had a gift for helping others, providing heartfelt advice, and finding the bright side in every situation. Her laughter, light, and beautiful soul lit up every room she entered.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor her life at the funeral service on Friday at 6:30 PM at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa. Visitation will be held the same day from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

A gathering will also take place on Saturday at 10:00 AM before processing to St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook, for the committal services.
