Megahey, John "Jack" age 76 of Bloomingdale at rest in Paterson on April 11, 2018. Beloved husband of Mae (nee Zomerdyke) Megahey of Bloomingdale. Loving father of Nicholas De Grote and his wife Renee of Totowa. Adoring grandfather of Jami and Anthony DeGrote of Totowa. Dear brother of Mary Kreheley of Egg Harbor Twsp., and the late Maureen Gonzales and Geri Servidio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Heidi. Born in Enniskillen, Ireland he lived in Ireland for 15 years before coming to the United States. He lived in Paterson for 40 years, then Wayne, before moving to Bloomingdale 16 years ago. He was a security guard for Passaic County Technical Institute, Wayne, for 10 years. Mr. Megahey was a member of the American Legion. He lived for his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday 4:00 -8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
