Obituary of Leila B Segrist

Segrist, Leila B. (nee Bacon), age 89 of Wayne at rest in Wayne on March 1, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Harry Segrist (2005). Loving mother of Melissa Sandner and her husband John of Wayne, Doug Ferguson and his wife Susan of Scottsdale, AZ, Pam Deschamps and her husband Charles of New Rochelle, NY, Greg Ferguson and his wife Helen of New Bedford, MA, Glenn Ferguson of Honolulu, HI and the late Bradley Ferguson (1994). Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Fiercely independent and strong, Leila's professional career selling advertising space for Ruben Donnelly started in the 1950's, and she continuously worked as an interior design consultant for many years before "retiring" in 1987 and opening The Country Meadow Inn with her husband Harry where they owned and operated the Bed & Breakfast for 17 years. Born in Springfield, MA, she lived in Springfield, MA, Yonkers, NY, Ridgewood, NJ, and Milford, NY before moving to Wayne 12 years ago. Mrs. Segrist also attended the Passaic County Adult Day Care Program in Totowa, NJ for a number of years.
